Ying and Yang

As many of you know, my sister was Miss August 2008 for Playboy Magazine. And like the flyer says, she is right now in the running to be "Playmate of the Year". Please click this link and go vote for her. The link goes to, so i can't guaranty it won't take you to naked ladies. Needless to say then, this is NSFW (not suitable for work). I don't know personally what's waiting on the other side because i am afraid if click the link, i'll see my sister naked... and i really can't afford to pay for the resulting therapy right now. If someone does go vote for my sister, please let me know what i am about to see.

Peace, Joshie

Josh's Tired Heart.

So, my sister, "Kayla Collins", was on Girls Next Door last night. Yes, the show about Playboy models. And a lot of people are asking me about it. First off, wow, a lot of people watch that show, and... well, probably shouldn't be admitting to it. Just because it's based around smokin' chics, doesn't make it OK to watch. She was on the episode testing for the actual Playboy Magazine. Though people make me feel ashamed to be proud of my sister... i am. she is bold and she is doing what she always wanted to do, so more power to her.

Also, on Sunday night, Aaron and Heather had their Wedding Shower. It just re-enforces the fact that the wedding is just around the corner. While we were at Jack Stack celebrating, we (and by, we i mean my friend Laura because she is the only person that could possibly recognize this person), spotted Kate Spade and her husband Andy "Jack" Spade. Judging by this picture... it was absolutely her. Apparently, she is from this area originally, so it only makes sense that when she is home visiting with family that she would go to a generic BBQ restaurant. So other than spotting JoJo Simmons in Times Square, and Ryan Cabrara in King of Prussia, this is probably one of the only celebrity sightings i will ever have. Especially in Kansas City. Although, with my up and coming sister, who knows.

Tonight, Josh's Super Chunk Chili... i have to say it was pretty tasty. i forgot to take some pictures, but you will have to take my word for it.

PS. i'm still without a 360.

Life's Waltz

Blogging has been a struggle. Even now, I am not finding much reason to post. Let me set the scene for you; the apartment is cool, slightly dusty and well lit. The only decorations i have up are one strand of lights along the top of my sliding doors. No trees, no wreaths, no well-dressed dogs (though i wish this wasn't the case). The TV is on in the other room with the volume up just loud enough for me to hear from the most cluttered room of my apartment where i sit. The computer i am typing on is brand new and finally running well, yet sits upon a rickety particle-board desk. It now has the essential programs of CS3, but i am unmotivated to use them just yet. The only thing running other than this browser, is AIM, and a download. I feel groggy and congested, with a slight head-ache, but somehow i can't bring myself to go to bed. So i type. Despite all of this, which, may or may not sound grim to you, I did something today that made me feel excellent. And lately, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. I go out more often now, and when i am not out, i am content with my place on the couch. The fact of the matter is, I find it hard to sit down and post when things are going really well. Really, thats when i should feel most compelled to write, but frankly it's just the opposite. But I am great. Things could always be better, but i certainly can't complain.

After I have bored you to death with all of that rambling, a couple things:
- within the next week or so I am going to set up a Flickr account and fill it with pictures.
- as soon as my sister gets back to me, a splash page should be online and running.
- i will be making more shirt designs for threadless (many with the help of Aaron Guillermo Hale).
- will be making a christmas card to send out.
- and a little secret that i care not to share just yet.

What i have been doing:
- i met Richard Quest.
- lots of downloading.
- eating lots of Chik-fil-a with Lindsay.
- a little secret that i care not to share just yet.
- Playing Halo 3, Assassins Creed, and Super Mario Galaxy.

the Soulsavers - Revival. Beautiful song. Go ahead give it a listen.

War on Pessimism

A work in progress.

As many of you know, my sister is going to be Playboy Model. What you may not know is she has quiet the resumé now including a FOX broadcasting car show (i believe locally in Pa). It's a rather tricky process working with a family member on a website, even more so when the content makes you a little uncomfortable. I am trying to keep it as simple and classy as possible but she has a lot of input, and most of it is not in her best "design interests." So it's a struggle.

Friday... thank God.
