Future Events

In music news, or rather, lack there of... MTV is a joke. Recently, MTV announced the are getting rid of TRL. So, unofficially, MTV got rid of the last show that actually put music videos on there network. Nice job. The article says they hope to replace it with the show “FNMTV”, whatever the hell that is. That tool Pete Wentz is hosting. Can you honestly call those people VJ's anymore? MTV is now going to play reality shows (in one form or another) on a constant loop 24-7.

Speaking of Pete Wentz; how did Fall Out Boy become so freaking terrible? Honestly! Have you heard their new single?! Does anyone else hear a weird resemblance to Shania Twain's "I Feel Like a Woman"? Come on that sh*t's embarrassing. The new lyrics are about as creative as a Miley Cyrus album, without a professional writers help. I tried, i really did, but it's over between us FOB. I wouldn't even illegally download your new album, if all the songs are as bad as that single.

I can't thank everyone enough for being so awesome on my birthday. i wish i had more to say, but i am extremely tired and i will post more "tomorrow".

Away From the Things of Man

There is plenty to blog about (and pictures) when it comes to my long weekend. but because of the late hour, i will update this post tomorrow. stay tuned.


Every so often, i feel we as people have to get away from our lives. At least i know i have to. So, taking a Monday off of work, for a long weekend away getting in touch with nature and ourselves, sounded like the perfect idea. A week in advance I reserved a site at Onodaga Caves Park. Unfortunately, due to the rain, the camp ground closed down a day before we were supposed to go. But Aaron found us The Fingerlicks the Finger Lakes, another campground closer by, in Columbia, Mo.

The nights were pretty cold, but toughing it out, like men, we managed to sleep in a tent for two nights (i, on the ground), wearing only hoodies, t-shirts, and jeans, and warming ourselves by fire. I don't want to say we were the only idiots out in this weather, but it was close at one point. Also, like the burly masculine spectacles we were, we also put off showering until we returned home on Monday. Needless to say our hair was greasy, our clothes were a mess, and our nethers were ripe. (sorry about that) Now i know what it must have been like to be in "Into the Wild". *cough* Doesn't seem too hard. I would like to say we completely roughed it, but being that there was a Bass Pro Shop 5 miles from the site, and a Cracker Barrel only 10 miles away, there wasn't much need...

Leo, Aaron, and I did our best to enjoy everything central Missouri had to offer. The Devil's Icebox, part of Rock Bridge State Park, was by far the coolest part. We spent our nights doing stuff you would only find three "artsy" kids, do while camping, singing around the fire (aka, a personal Aaron Hale concert each night), taking pictures of lights in the dark, and drawing with burnt wood. Dorks.







Over all, the weekend did what i wanted it to accomplish... and i had a great time.

Today was a good day. You know how some times things just kinda fall into place? Today was one of those days. This is silly, but i knew God was smiling at me when i hit every green light on the way to work today. I didn't get in the good garage, but my feelings weren't hurt. Then, just this morning, as i read my e-mail, I was informed that i was going to be on a research team for Valentines Day. Awesome. On the most beautiful day in February, i got to leave work early and drive around. I almost pooped. Anyhow, do you ever just step outside into the sun, look directly at it and just take a breath of fresh air? mmm i love that. It almost reached 70 while i was out today. That's like spring! Inside all day? Awhhh.... too bad... HA. sorry. Moving on. The day off really worked out well because i didn't get to run any errands this weekend, so this was the perfect opportunity to. Driving around with the windows down, singing at the top of my lungs... It was a good day. Maybe i will post my findings later. Paper Source gets an A+ in my book.

I said i was going to post things that have bad design this week... no really good examples today, but in honor of the research day, I'm going to start with AG's Valentines Collection. Vom.

While out, i signed my life away for another year in this apartment. See you in hell kids.

This is a tattoo idea I drew up for Nick. I kinda just went at it with a Micron pen without sketching out anything first. Typically, i don't do this because it would turn out like crap. I'm not saying this one breaks that mold, but it's better than i thought. And really, the guy doing the tattooing, Tim Kern, is pretty much spectacular, so all he needed was an idea to go by. I will try to get Nick's permission to post his tattoo when it's finished, so you can see where it goes. Nick, start polishing those guns for pictures.

Last night, I bitched out, and got Halo 3. I played it until about 1 last night, so far, so good. Along with Halo i made these purchases:

• Free Halo 3 wall sticker
• Knocked Up 2 Disc Edition (with free playing cards)
• Taco Bell Grande Meal

Aaron tallied it up to be 126 or so. (what i forget the official tally?!, so what if it was a lot.)
Then, i painted a cool zombie at Aaron and John's. Lucky for me that was free.

That's all i have to post when it comes to interesting design news. So, yet again, I have come to the dilemma of not having anything more to post about, but i still feel compelled to write something anyhow.

I've been thinking a lot about destiny and fate lately. Does God have a path planned out for me? How do my actions shape me? My mistakes, my triumphs. There is a theory... basically everyone has heard of in some way shape or form; the Butterfly Effect. Most people have heard of it from the movie by the same name, starring the hottie Ashton Kutcher. Of course, many other movies have been based off of the same thing (i.e. It's A Wonderful Life). The basic theory of this is that the tiniest thing plays a part in the over all way things turn out. Such as, a butterflies wings create the slightest breeze from them flapping. With this, and atmospheric changes, could mean the difference between the creation or prevention of a tornado. The slightest changes in a surface could mean a different result each time. A drop of sweat rolling down your brow will make a different route each time because of tiny variation in the skin. Did I lose you yet? In a larger picture, it's called the Chaos Theory. As I see it, it's saying things happened the way they did for a reason. With even the slightest change to your everyday life, this could have a ripple effect changing millions of other things that could happen in your future. I can't say i have had the easiest life, but i certainly haven't had the hardest by any means either. I feel the events leading up to this point in my life have made me the person I am today. My move, my heart breaks, my friends, my job, my family. I feel like some people don't sit back and use what they have learned. But at the same time, there is a balance, where you can't live in the past either. I hope I can live my life to the fullest and get all that I can out of it. You only live once right? But, I am doing my best to just let things pan out like "they were meant to be."

Anniversary of Nothing

Another rainy day in Missouri. I remain heart broken. Today will be especially hard. I had planned to take Heather out to dinner tonight and have a nice romantic evening. Obviously, that won't be the case.

Thats one of my illustrations. this particular character, of myself, i have been drawing the longest out of all of my others. i like how he has gotten progressingly uglier as time progressed. He is a much simpler design but i believe it was for the better. it's too bad i suck as an illustrator.

Mike Perry. Midwest is Best. I loves me some typography. His illustrations are awesome too. I am getting the impression that most people have viewed this site well before i have... but i am going to post it anyhow, because i think his stuff is just neato. Besides, i haven't really come across anything else worth posting.

At work, none of MY designs were picked in the line-up. "Too alternitive looking" they say. I'm just sick. Today sucks, as usual. Enjoy the sites, i am going to go sulk over what work i have.
