Connect Like Lightning

Edible
Just today, i was talking about trying new things. This is not exactly what i had in mind, but it keeps with the theme. This company has capitalized on taking exotic delicacies from other countries, and mass marketing them (by either turning them into a chocolate covered snack or some form of liquor it seems). Each product comes complete with the spiritual and physical advantage, on beautifully designed, simple packaging. The only downfall, is a barely navigable website. GAH! Thanks Nina for pointing me towards this site. I don't think i would have a problem chowing down a tasty chocolate covered scorpion.

To Be Samson

Here i thought i was going to get on Blogger today, and have nothing to talk about, so i would likely be stuck crying about how lonely i am... but while i was on the elliptical watching CNN at the gym, there it was, like a sign from God...
JIM'S GUN SUPPLY!
Hunting weapons of course. Pretty pink hunting weapons, complete with Hello Kitty, name decal... and bayonet! Parents are concerned they look too much like toys. i mean look at this... thats just silly! This IS a toy. Last time i checked you don't go out blowing away deer with an AK... but then again, i'm not much of a hunter. Anyhow, i don't want to forget the others. If pink wasn't quite doing it for you, they have a plethora of other options. My favorites are to the left. My hands-down favorite is the "Stress Reducer"! HAHA, wow. Not surprisingly, i checked the site to see where they located... it's in the mid-west (Baraboo, WI), OF COURSE. As i watched CNN report on this, it took everything i had not to start dying of laugher through my weezing. I managed to keep my excitement to dull chuckle and a wide smile. I doubt everyone else will find this exactly as funny as i have... but hopefully you will find some amusement. Despite the fact that this is completely ridiculous in my eyes, i still have to give them credit for a novel idea. Not only that, but somewhere deep down, my inner manliness is raging and makes me think it's pretty kick-ass. Yee-haw!

Video games don't kill people, crazy rednecks with pink guns kill people.

On a side note to all of this. I had a great day today (despite my earlier comment of being lonely).

Josh

Marked

This is a tattoo idea I drew up for Nick. I kinda just went at it with a Micron pen without sketching out anything first. Typically, i don't do this because it would turn out like crap. I'm not saying this one breaks that mold, but it's better than i thought. And really, the guy doing the tattooing, Tim Kern, is pretty much spectacular, so all he needed was an idea to go by. I will try to get Nick's permission to post his tattoo when it's finished, so you can see where it goes. Nick, start polishing those guns for pictures.

Last night, I bitched out, and got Halo 3. I played it until about 1 last night, so far, so good. Along with Halo i made these purchases:
• The Weakerthans - Reunion Tour
• Iron and Wine - The Shepherd's Dog
• Free Halo 3 wall sticker
• Knocked Up 2 Disc Edition (with free playing cards)
• Taco Bell Grande Meal

Aaron tallied it up to be 126 or so. (what i forget the official tally?!, so what if it was a lot.)
Then, i painted a cool zombie at Aaron and John's. Lucky for me that was free.

After a long weekend of fun-filled excitement and uproarious behaviour from Lauren, her sister Emily, and her best friend Melissa. I learned the secret language of "Op", sudoku, and new ways to have fun. The group is obviously a good one or else i probably wouldn't have kept coming back. With the Plaza Friday evening and Saturday morning, and Legends on Sunday afternoon, the weekend was mostly shopping. I got a couple things, i feel like i need to be more creative with my wardrobe now. We went to Worlds of Fun Saturday night, that was a lot of fun. It was like discovering a part of Missouri I had never seen (even though literally it was, i mean figuratively). It has been quite some time since i have been on a roller coaster, running around the park, just having a good time like a teenager. If you get the chance, go. Come Friday, I feel like i wil get more of this kind of fun, being that i will be going home to be with highschool friends. Until then though, there is a decent amount of work to be done.

love, Josh

In Memory of... Part 1.

Today, I realized that Kansas City isn't much of a hot spot for vacations. Of course, I realized this before, but today the roads were empty, there were no evening plans made, and many of my friends have gone home. I don't really know where everyone goes. Certainly not the beach. Maybe thats why there is no one on the roads, because to go anywhere worth while for Memorial Day you have to fly.

The airport was no busier then normal today. I was there this morning at 6 to start Heather and Riley home. It was a pretty normal trip. Quiet. Typical conversation. McDonald's food. I miss them, but they are probably having a lot better time in Pa.

Someone new moved in today. a college aged girl if i had to guess. I hope she is better then the other neighbors, some of these people are just plan annoying. I also noticed the new neighbor in the dumpster out back, in the form of an enormous raccoon. I will get him on film soon.

I dropped 300 bones on stuff tonight. I got what i needed in groceries for the next couple weeks. But the exciting items include; the Zelda Wii game, and Medal of Honor for the Wii, and the Used CD. The best part involves a short story:
As I was leaving Best Buy i was checking over my receipt because i felt i was getting shorted on my savings when it came to my coupons. Once I analyzed the items, and debated returning to the customer service counter to get more money off, I realized that i had walked out with a $25 Afro Samurai DVD. So needless to say i didn't re-enter the store, and i went on my marry way.

I am trying to think of ways to keep me busy today.

Baby, It's Been a While

The music starts up, and a forest of arms arises. Peering through, you can see the boyish face covered in shaggy hair, that matches the wining voice on stage. When it's all over, the music fades to a piercing ring, bringing all other sounds do a dull mute. I saw Taking Back Sunday, UnderOath, and Armor for Sleep tonight. It was a great show. Taking Back Sunday is always a good time, and the opening bands put on a great show was well. I really enjoy going to shows with Heather especially. Ever since I saw Heather holding hands with her Ex way back 2 years or so ago, I have wanted to do the same. That, and to protect her from the raging mosh-pits (even though she could probably handle herself). Tonight I got my chance. We had a romantic "high school date" where we went to McDonald's and the concert. It was exciting to say the least. I would do more of a review on the show but i don't feel like it this time.

Somehow concerts have made their way back into my scheduled activities. First Vedera and other local acts, and then the Shins, TBS... I might also see Vedera again this weekend, Straylight Run later this month, and the Decemberists in April. There are plenty of other shows I would love to go too but I just can't afford all of this.

There is a good chance I am going to buy a Wii this weekend. Next on the list to buy after that is either a tattoo, or an iPod.

This past weekend was an excellent time. We traveled out to Legends. Of course this destination had to be an outlet mall, so I couldn't help but spend lost of money at mildly discounted prices. My fashion consultants; Kristen, Lauren, Bob, and Heather, didn't help either. I got:
-a Banana Republic Blazer
-a Gap Jean Jacket
-a stripped T
-Nike Running shoes
-Chucks
I felt all were well worth the money spent though. I'm also very glad I am able to really connect with these people out here. I feel like each day I grow closer to these people making them lifelong friends.

This is a crock of shit. I find it ironic how someone can complain about Macs not shutting up, but everyone knows that PC users have a history of complaining about Macs since they were built.

I missed Lost tonight... looks like I will have to catch up tomorrow at work. Yeah, I know, I'm terrible. Goodnight folks.
